How do I update my apps?

Recently encountered an issue where some of my apps stopped working properly. Not sure how to update them or if there’s a way to fix this. Looking for a step-by-step guide or any advice.

  1. Open the app store (App Store for iPhones, Google Play Store for Androids, whatever weird proprietary store if you’re on some fringe platform—good luck there).
  2. Look for the ‘Updates’ section. On iPhones, it’s under your profile picture; on Android, it’s usually in the main menu or ‘Manage Apps & Device.’
  3. Tap ‘Update All’ or select the apps individually. Easy, right? Unless you’ve been ignoring update notifications for years and now every app is practically yelling at you.
  4. Pray to the Wi-Fi gods. If your apps are still not working properly even after updating, they might be trying to tell you it’s time… to delete them and move on. Or you could try clearing cache/data (Android) or reinstalling them altogether (universal fix for all platforms—reboot and hope).

TL;DR: Update your apps in the store. If they’re still acting up: RELAUNCH, REINSTALL, or just RESIST THE URGE TO YEET YOUR PHONE COMPLETELY.

Ugh, app updates—love 'em, hate 'em, or just plain forget ‘em. Couple things to add to @cacadordeestrelas’ list of wisdom, though I’d take a slightly different angle on a few points:

If you’re dealing with apps not working properly even after updates, definitely try clearing space on your phone. Yeah, yeah, I know, nobody likes Marie Kondo-ing their photo gallery from 2016, but low storage can make apps run like they’re stuck in molasses. Also, some background processes might be wreaking havoc, especially if you’ve got like 20 tabs open in your browser right now. Close out all those apps, maybe even restart your device—sometimes a clean slate is all it takes to set things right.

For Android users: Go to Settings > Apps > [Your App] > Storage and clear that cache or, if you’re feeling bold, all data (just maybe double-check you won’t lose anything important). For iOS users, they don’t make it so easy, but deleting and reinstalling the app can achieve the same goal.

Now, one detail I gotta slightly throw shade on—@cacadordeestrelas implied you should move on if the app isn’t working after updates. Look, I’m all for simplifying life, but if you’re too attached (we’re talking you live on this app), try contacting the app’s support team through their website or socials. Might be a pain, but sometimes the issue’s on their end (wild, right?), and they actually patch it out later.

Also, PSA: Stop ignoring update notifications until your apps are ancient relics of a past OS. This isn’t 2010 anymore; updates aren’t just for new emojis—they fix bugs, patch security issues, and keep things alive. Keep that “auto-update” feature on unless you’re gaming on some potato-tier internet connection.

If all else fails, though… yeah, maybe it’s time to cut the cord. But only if you’ve tried everything (and can somehow live without Candy Crush).
